Dillon: 9000 ft high, surrounded by snowy fourteeners. One hour drive from Denver.Went sailing on Joe's boat. Takes an hour to sail from Dillon marina to Frisco's, where they have added nice anchor additions to their marina. Ate in Frisco at the newly built eating place next to the lake. Bad, bad food, only drink a beer. Took 10 mile round bike trip along the shores of the lake Dillon-Frisco- Dillon. Mellow and easy. In spring/summer is cool. Love biking in the high country.

After work we relaxed doing Waterton Canyon. Take Rte 121 off I 470E. Pass Lockheed and park left on route. Entrance across the street. Wide dirt road, mellow, easy, even for chidren. On left is Sth Platte River. Didn't measure distance but follow 5 miles until the Dam at right where there are picnic tables. Higher up route becomes steeper and after a 3/4 mile it becomes narrow, with switchback and more strenuous mountain biking. It joints the Colorado trail. We did a little of that but turned back. Easy access, for neighboring Denverites or friends visiting them. Not on week-ends please

Went to a mexican restaurant called "Bandito" in Littleton, suburb of Denver. Very warm interior. Staff nice and food very light, and tasty. Marguerita's are good tasting. Not too artificial tasting. Very moderately priced. I thank my friends Joe and Jules for inviting me and extracting me out of my splendid isolation.

Pierrot and I loved visiting Colorado Nat. Monument, because it is small, rugged with few visitors who bypass this little treasure on their way to Moab or Canyon Lands in Utah. Enter the park by car east in Grand Junction. It's a mighty high narrow 23 mile route with dramatic look-outs. Near the visitor centre the trail you have to do is Monument Canyon Trail, 6 miles in toto, first mile steep descent -not difficult-, the rest beautiful walk at the bottom of canyon. Admire Coke Ovens monoliths, around the 3 mile corner the Kissing Couple Rock and Independence Rock. Great vista camping on premise
