East of I 15 S in southern Utah in Kanab lays is wonderful park : Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park. It's of the beaten path.Short detour on way to Zion or Las Vegas. Elevation 6,000 ft. We were there in February, cold, windy, rainy, lonely. Not a soul. Wonderfully alone. The sand really looks coral/pink. Some mighty high ridged dunes . You can walk everywhere. Apparently it is an ATV paradise (in summer I suppose) because it is more than 3500 acres big. Rik and I trekked through the vast expanse. We thought we were in a film of Lawrence of Arabia.
