Went with Antje and El to La Jolla Music Society's Summerfest. Memorable chamber music evening, which I will never forget: Ravel's sonata in G min. for violin and piano, Bartok's Contrasts and Brahms' string sextet in G Major. Anne-Marie McDermott expressive. Jimmy Lin excellent. I find La Jolla Summerfest the best in the country. Located near the center of La Jolla (for dinner),everything is superior: the elegance of the players, a well designed program, the concert hall is intimate, the audience extremely well dressed and appreciative. For those who love classical music, this is a must event. |

Double Tree Golf Course. Well, I played pretty horribly. Probably the worst round ever since I started...okay, maybe not worst. I played with John Goode, Rich Lutz and Joe Wong from HP. I was filling in for someone in the HP golf league. I flew into the water with my first drive on Hole 1 and then barely cleared post-mully. We finished 18 but the 18th was definitely in the dark. Amazingly, we all were able to find our original balls by staying someone around where we needed to hit the ball. |

Ah, the joy of a small airport in a large city. SAN has never been a problem checking bags with only a 1hr. lead time, and the terminal is clean and cozy. Be aware there are three terminals (1, 2, and a commuter terminal to go to LA). You can park for $0.50 for 1/2 hour if picking up a passenger - otherwise the on-airport parking is expensive ($20/day I think). Off-site parking is close and is available for $12 per day. |

Got four hours to clothes shop at the Fashion Valley Mall without the kids. Got a pair of white pants from Express that fit perfectly - nice and stretchy. Got a couple of saucy tops and a pair of white shoes from Nordy's. Was exhausted by the end of it. I'm not in shopping condition! Anyway, fun but not the most productive. |

Didn't play that great on the front nine but did better on the back. Course is really short. Only two par 4s. I should play here more to work on my short game. Putting was awful. Missed about 4 within 2 feet! Nice day with Ben and Masha though. |

One of the nicest executive courses in San Diego. Many of the holes are quite short at less than 150 yrds. Sunday afternoon round w/ Ben & Masha. Course details at: http://www.golfsd.com/lomas_sf.html Address: 1580 Sun Valley Road Solana Beach, CA 92075 858-755-0195 |

Nice wine bar close to Qualcomm Stadium. The owner was very friendly, and the fruity wines are very tasty. Best is the ambience - everything is wood and mellow lighting. More info at: www.trislerswinebar.com. Address: 8555 Station Village Lane, San Diego, CA. |

Warm, good visibility, but too shallow :( Didn't see a lot of interesting stuff - maybe more vibrant in the winter? Creatures: big green-camouflage lingcod, fat lobsters, fat garibaldi. See freedraw for route. |
