Activity: Golf Country: Taiwan City: Taipei Bing Hai Golf Club October, 2007 |
Experience Repeatability |
Bei Hai is about 1 hour north of Taipei along the Northern Coastal Highway in the village of Shi Men. They have 15 holes as you repeat 10, 11, and 12 on different greens for your final 3 holes. It is one of the few courses in Taiwan you can play with out a caddy. The greens are flat and easy. Fairways are open. The fees are really reasonable for Taiwan as golf is marketed as a rich man's game. |

Checked out the new Wynn Casino. Classy joint. Lots of Asian favorites, Baccarat, Blackjack and Slots. They say they are trying to introduce Western favorites and will be the first to have a western Roulette in Macau. |

Went shopping with Selena in some district of Taichung. Became fixated on bubble skirts and HAD to find one. Did find a cute brown and white swirly one in a kind of silk material. Am next on a mission for a green top - primary green, of course! |

Activity: Bars/Clubs Country: Taiwan City: Taipei TU December, 1997 |
Experience Repeatability |
TU is more of a club than a bar, and fairly popular with expats in Taipei, although plenty of locals go too. Generally had a really fun time at this club, and it's open till about 4am. I spoke with someone more recently, though, who says it has lost some of its prestige in the Taipei club scene. |
