Activity: Golf Country: Taiwan City: Taipei Bing Hai Golf Club October, 2007 |
Experience Repeatability |
Bei Hai is about 1 hour north of Taipei along the Northern Coastal Highway in the village of Shi Men. They have 15 holes as you repeat 10, 11, and 12 on different greens for your final 3 holes. It is one of the few courses in Taiwan you can play with out a caddy. The greens are flat and easy. Fairways are open. The fees are really reasonable for Taiwan as golf is marketed as a rich man's game. |

Double Tree Golf Course. Well, I played pretty horribly. Probably the worst round ever since I started...okay, maybe not worst. I played with John Goode, Rich Lutz and Joe Wong from HP. I was filling in for someone in the HP golf league. I flew into the water with my first drive on Hole 1 and then barely cleared post-mully. We finished 18 but the 18th was definitely in the dark. Amazingly, we all were able to find our original balls by staying someone around where we needed to hit the ball. |

Activity: Golf State: Hawaii City: Poipu Poipu Bay Golf Course June, 2007 |
Experience Repeatability |
Home of the PGA Grand Slam, this course is one of the nicest in the country, with scenic ocean views, open fairways, and fast greens. Most recently, Tiger won here in 2006. Course best is Phil Mickelson with a 58. The course is right next to the Grand Hyatt in Poipu. Cost is $140 per person. Shot better on the back 9, El beat me by 2.... Scores below. |

Didn't play that great on the front nine but did better on the back. Course is really short. Only two par 4s. I should play here more to work on my short game. Putting was awful. Missed about 4 within 2 feet! Nice day with Ben and Masha though. |

One of the nicest executive courses in San Diego. Many of the holes are quite short at less than 150 yrds. Sunday afternoon round w/ Ben & Masha. Course details at: http://www.golfsd.com/lomas_sf.html Address: 1580 Sun Valley Road Solana Beach, CA 92075 858-755-0195 |

Activity: Golf State: California City: Los Angeles Rancho Park Par 3 June, 2007 |
Experience Repeatability |
Played Rancho Park Par-3 today, Sunday June 10, started at 3:3o. Course is good, nice and shady. Greens are good. Had to wait a lot, but still finished in under two hours, not bad for smack in the middle of LA. Driving range was packed. |

Pretty course, nice views of the ocean. Using sand wedge w/ more wrist instead of lob helped here. Worth a play here in Port Elizabeth. |

Second time playing this course. Very nice and well maintained. It was very windy this day so drives were about 20-30 yds shorter than usual. |
