2nd dive at this site. Mom doing well. Explored wall. Dropped to 20m at late stage of dive for ~2 min. Safety stop OK. Nice final dive of 1997. Mom - useful buddy helped locate tangled console for safety stop. -- saw large lobster.

Experience

An enormous grouper, 2 turtles. Second time at this site - right next to Andy's Reef -. Mom left after 15 minutes. Too bad; decent dive anyways though visibility not great. No sharks. Never got to sandy flats.

Saw three white-fin reef sharks, one of them ~2m long. Saw the giant clam, but didn't find it so giant. Nice dive, hilly, sandy terrain with some nice coasting.

Gili Islands - Andys Reef
December, 1997

Experience

Repeatability

Descent to vast stag-horn coral bed, then to sandy area ~20m depth. At around 30m depth, solitary white-tip shark (~1meter length). Problems starting the dive too late (too many people!), but a nice dive anyway.
