The classic shore dive on Catalina. See freedraw for route. On turning right from entry looked for the wall but didn't find it, turned after a short while to explore the sunken raft surrounded by kelp. |

Drift dive from 'Long Point' to 'Pirates Cove' off Catalina. Gentle slope in beginning (Pirates Cove) meandering between boulders and thick healthy kelp. Latter part of dive (Long Point) more sheer walls. |

Terrific dive site! Friday in Catalina. Dive operator: Catalina Express. Sheer wall with sloping kelp 'caverns'. Thick yellow, blue, purple, red, and orange fans. |

Low vis dive, but fun navigating in kelp. Kept at boundary between hen rock/kelp and sandy bottom. Getting better at drysuit (still 24 lbs.) |

This is the best shore dive on Catalina. However be careful on the exit - there can be a lot of surge and you don't want to bang up against the steps. Turning left from the entry, there's a nice tower wreck at 50' depth in the kelp. Will stick with 24lbs+ankle weights. |
